The University of Hawaii at Hilo men’s and women’s basketball teams will close their home season on Thursday night, hosting PacWest foe Hawaii Pacific University at UHH Gym.

The women play at 5 p.m. and the men at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday is Senior Night for Vulcan men Zach Wilde, Dirk Snel, Vince Sanekane, Josh Figueroa and Nick Kanno as well as Vulcan women Hillary Hurley, Hotia Vaaimamao, Dayna Jandoc and Sheena Pio.

The UHH teams then end their season on Saturday night with PacWest games at Chaminade University in Honolulu.

* Baseball: The UHH baseball team will host Grand Canyon University in a four-game Pacific West Conference series this week at Wong Stadium.

The series includes 6 p.m. games on Wednesday and Friday, and a 4 p.m. doubleheader on Thursday.

The Vulcans, under longtime coach Joey Estrella, are 3-5 overall and 0-4 in the PacWest. The Antelopes are 4-8 and 2-6, respectively.

* Softball: The UHH softball team, under coach Jaime Wallin, will host Notre Dame de Namur in a doubleheader at noon Saturday at the Vulcan field.

Due to heavy rains and a soggy field on Saturday and Sunday, the Vulcans-alumnae contest was cancelled.

* Tennis: The UHH tennis teams, under coach Kula Oda, will host Brigham Young University-Hawaii at 1 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday for matches on the UHH Tennis Courts.
